Davey London's Biography

Davey London studied music in school for seven years before starting his first band at age 14. The name of the band was the Viscounts; the year was 1962. In 1964, Davey joined SherryLee and the Gestics and went on the road. In 1967, Davey assembled an all girl backing band called Little Davey and his Charms. In 1968, Davey formed a new band called Little Davey and the Chain Gang. Davey was booked all over the country by hollywood international talents, a booking agency who booked famous rhytmne and blues bands, such as the drifters, the olympics,The coasters, and many others. There were two partners in the agency, Chuck Cabot, a famous band leader, and Art Benson, who wrote The thrill is gone for BB King. Davey's Members would change through the years, including Al Schneider (a drummer for the Everly Brothers), Bobby Hart (with the Hollywood Argyles), Cal Thomas (one of the members of the original Checkmates), members of Miles Davis, Shelly Mann, Mothers of Invention, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and the Doobie Brothers, Dolores O'Connall (from the Go-Go's), and many other fine musicians.

Davey went on to become singer-songwriter Davey London, and would sign a five year contract with Ray Charles Enterprises, and then a seven year contract with Bones Howe, a Hollywood producer who produced the 5th Dimension and many other famous artists and TV specials. Davey opened up Happy Records in 1973, and has written over 120 songs, and produced ten original CD's. Now available on Happy Records.
